South of the Border

Today we’re heading south of the border to Riviera Maya, Mexico! The trip I took here was by far my favorite place to travel to because of the endless possibilities of things to do as well as the breathtaking scenery. In today's blog I want to focus on the resort itself and the limitless things to do there.

For my trip I stayed at the Iberostar Paraíso Beach resort in Riviera Maya. I was amazed by the beautiful scenery and wonderful service. The people working here were so kind and friendly that you are certain to make a friend by the end of your stay. There are many animals walking freely around the resort as well, so don’t be surprised if you spot a peacock, lizard or even a coati. The ocean was warm and clear and there was so much seating on the beach to relax by the water. If you wanted a snack while you tan they even had a snack hut right on the beach.

The pool was breathtaking. Don’t let the singular use of the word pool scare you, just that pool alone stretched throughout a large amount of the resort. You could choose to hang out at the center of the pool where the swim up bar and the partiers were, or seek privacy in the sections of the pool that broke away from the center. The swim up bar in the center of the pool can make any tropical fruity drink you’re feeling, even coffee if its early in the morning and you need some energy. Lazy rivers flow from the larger areas of the pool that you can float down as well. Drift all the way down to one of the ends where you can chill in a hot tub that is hidden within a cave. To enter the cave you have to walk through a waterfall.

Whatever food you are craving they have a restaurant just for it! With dining of all kinds throughout the resort, the food doesn’t get boring. They vary from formal restaurants to casual, whatever you prefer for the night. Some of the fancier restaurants require men to dress formal so if you plan on eating nice don't forget to pack some pants! My favorite by far was the hibachi restaurant, but they also had several different buffets and a steakhouse. If you’re missing American food they have a diner with a menu full of burgers and pizzas.

A perk of staying at this resort is that you are granted the ability of being able to look around the neighboring resorts as well. This opens the opportunity to even more pools, restaurants and shops! This way, if you’re looking for something new you can take a walk right next door and have so many different options available to you.

You definitely won’t regret booking your trip here, this resort had things to do for everyone. It doesn’t even include the many different excursion opportunities as well as the shopping area in town that you can visit. So book that trip to Riviera Maya and get ready for paradise!
